For the amount of money these things sell for, I was expecting them to cut through wood like--pardon the cliche--butter; but no. I found I had to run them across a ceramic when they arrived. The fact is that the cheap X-Acto wood-cutting set I bought before these still gets used more often... probably because I'm not afraid of beating those blades up *because* they were cheap.The Two Cherries knives seem well-made, however, and admittedly what I wanted to use them for (simple whittling) isn't exactly what they're for (chip cutting).
